CPRE London will be holding an online event and discussion on Wednesday 2nd November 2022, 1-2pm, about the AELTC expansion plans and the Save Wimbledon Park campaign.
See more information on the CPRE London website and sign up for the event.
CPRE London say: "The All England Lawn Tennis Club’s (AELTC) proposed expansion for a new 8,000 seat stadium, 38 tennis courts and ten maintenance hubs (one being 30,000 sq. feet) plus 9km of road/paving breaches covenants drawn up precisely to prevent such development.
Join us online to hear about the significance of the park and the issues at stake: its environment and rich biodiversity, its heritage and openness, and the importance of public access for wellbeing and recreation. There will be a discussion about the protections put in place to preserve all of this, and why these issues are so critical and topical.
Alice Roberts, CPRE London, author of
will be chairing the event. Other speakers will be covering the topics mentioned, including the environment and heritage, the covenants and legal issues relating to Wimbledon Park. Your questions and comments will be welcome.
