GLA Notice of Representation Hearing on 27th September 2024

GLA Hearing

We have heard from the GLA that the Hearing to decide whether AELTC’s planning application should be accepted or refused will be held at City Hall on Friday 27th September. (See the full text of the GLA notice below).

Join the demonstration outside City Hall and attend the hearing, which starts at 10am, doors open 8:30am: 140 seats available.

Public Meeting at St. Barnabas Church

Accordingly we are inviting you to a public meeting at St. Barnabas Church, 146 Lavenham Road, Southfields, London SW18 5EP on Monday September 23rd from 1930 – 2130 .

We should receive the GLA Planning Officers Report no later than 20th September. The significance of this report is that the Planning Committees of both Merton and Wandsworth followed the advice of their Officers Report, albeit with very different outcomes.

Our meeting at St.Barnabas will have four main aims:

• Summarising GLA Planning Officers report and considering its implications

• Running through what will happen at the Hearing on September 27th

• Suggesting what you can do

• Answering your questions

Please note that on the 27th all speakers at the GLA Hearing who wish to oppose the scheme have only a total of 15 minutes to present their arguments.

Right to speak

If you have made a written representation in relation to the Applications either to the Council or to the GLA at any consultation stage then you are eligible to request to speak (for the avoidance of doubt this does not include an individual who has signed a petition but would include an individual who has signed a standard letter). If you wish to speak at the hearing you must submit to GLA officers a detailed statement of the issues that you intend to express to the Deputy Mayor within seven days from the date of this correspondence. This information should also clearly state in what capacity you wish to speak (i.e. objector or supporter) and which organisation (if any) you represent. All statements should be provided in writing by email to: Wimbledon.park@london.gov.uk. If you request to speak you should also indicate whether you intend to attend the hearing in-person at City Hall or whether you wish to participate online. We will share details of how to join online with anyone who wishes to participate virtually.

If you do not want the GLA to share your details for this purpose please confirm in your response. PLEASE NOTE – not agreeing to share your personal details may mean that you will not be able to speak at the hearing. The GLA will publish a list of confirmed speakers three days in advance of the hearing on the GLA website here: https://www.london.gov.uk/programmes-strategies/planning/planning-applications-and-decisions/public-hearings/wimbledon-park-golf-club-hearing.
