We appreciate that the general election is a matter of national significance. The results of the election will determine the future direction and governance of the United Kingdom for at least the next 5 years. We do not presume that our campaign is more significant than the national and international issues.
However, voting will be to appoint our local Members of Parliament. Therefore local issues and personalities may well be taken into account when voting.
The most important local issue could be the proposed expansion onto adjacent Metropolitan Open Land by the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.
With this in mind, all of the general election candidates in the constituencies of Putney and Wimbledon have been contacted where possible to ascertain their views. (Apologies to those whom we were not able to contact. Please get in touch if you would like to be included).
